1. Instructions

The basic course is deliberately cut off in many respects from the scope of information. We do this to make it easier for a beginner to get started.

In the advanced courses you will learn everything you need to operate the aircraft. However, the creation of these courses takes time. To help you get further, we will add information sources in this section that you can use to familiarise yourself with more deeply.

Manuals

The first information medium is of course the manual of the DCS module. It is available in different languages as a PDF file. Some people don't find it, because it is not easily linked in the start menu. But it is located in the following folder on your hard disk:

<DCS-InstallDir>\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Doc\DCS FA-18C Early Access Guide EN.pdf

Please keep in mind that the manual for modules in Early Access may not be complete and will be updated again and again in the course of further development. This means that if you like to copy the files to your tablet like I do, you should check it from time to time to see if the file size has changed.

Chuck's Guides

The instructions of Charly_Owl (Chuck's Guides) from the DCS-Forum summarize the most important things. Therefore they are very popular. Unfortunately they are only available in English:

Hoggit

Hoggit is an English speaking community for DCS and BMS. It consists of a discussion group, a discord, a wiki and so on.

2. Videos

A picture is worth a thousand words. A video can be even more helpful, but only if the creator has an idea of what he is recording.

There are many videos on YouTube about DCS. We would like to provide you with a selection of videos that we are convinced of their quality:

"RedKite" has a series called DCS F/A-18C Hornet Tutorials.
"Spudknocker" should not be missing: DCS: F/A-18C Lot 20 Hornet by Eagle Dynamics.
